We have many fantastic pubs across the Staffordshire Moorlands but this week my 26th Reason to Visit the Moorlands is three of our community owned pubs: The Auctioneers Arms in Caverswall, The Royal Oak in Rushton Spencer and The White Hart in Alton.
We are so lucky to have so many beautiful and tranquil spots on our doorstep here in the Moorlands, and this week, as part of my Year of Reasons initiative, I am delighted to be focusing on another of these - Consall Woods.
This week is week 24 of my Year of Reasons to Visit the Moorlands and I am delighted to highlight the fantastic Christmas events taking place in Leek and Biddulph and across the constituency. This year the Christmas Lights event in Leek will take place on Friday 17th November and in Biddulph on Saturday 25th.
We have so many fantastic farms and farmers here in the Moorlands and I am always eager to highlight them and the great work they do. One of the places where you can get to see agriculture first-hand is the wonderful Leek Cattle Market which is my week 22’s Reason to Visit the Moorlands.
We already have the great news about the reopening of the Leek-Stoke line and this announcement of £4,982,000 of funding for Staffordshire County Council to improve bus services will be transformational for people across the Moorlands.
