I am a great supporter of local sports and here in the Moorlands we are lucky to have many fantastic organisations. We have rugby, cricket, golf, hockey and so many other sports with clubs and activities right across the constituency. I will be writing about some of these in future weeks but, as my week 36’s Reason to Visit the Moorlands, I would like to highlight the amazing Leek Town FC, the Blues.
I am delighted that the Government has launched the Pharmacy First approach, using the skills of our pharmacists to treat more people in the community without the need for a GP appointment – speeding up their own care as well as reducing pressure on local GP services.
I welcome the news that the Government is helping people across the Moorlands get active by investing £58,975.00 into our grassroots sports facilities.
I never tire of saying how lucky we are to live in the beautiful Staffordshire Moorlands. We have so many special places and for this week’s Reason I would like to feature the picturesque village of Butterton.
Holocaust Memorial Day is an important opportunity for people to reflect on the darkest times of European history. I pledge to remember the six million Jewish men, women and children who were murdered in the Holocaust and speak out against all forms of antisemitism
Moorlands MP, Karen Bradley has welcomed the news that Staffordshire County Council has approved the continuation of overnight residential support for children with SEND.
We have many fantastic musical organisations in the Moorlands and whilst I will be featuring more of them later on in the year, this week, the fantastic Biddulph Male Voice Choir is my Reason to Visit the Moorlands.
My January newsletter went out this week with news of my A Year of Reasons to Visit the Moorlands initiative and also my next coach trip to Parliament.
