Helping combat Loneliness and Isolation

I have pledged to help tackle the important issue of Loneliness & Isolation. With initiatives such as my Senior Tea Dances, my Loneliness Conference, my Loneliness & Isolation Directory and my Pensioners and Carers Advice Fair, I am determined to make a difference.

Levelling Up and Cost of Living

Since first being elected MP in 2010, I have always looked for opportunities to bring investment into the area. I want us to have the best public services and facilities possible. There have been several recent funding allocations for the Moorlands which will help to ensure we have the services we need.

Enhancing our NHS

Please also be assured that Leek Moorlands Hospital continues to be high on my radar. The people of the Moorlands deserve high quality modern health care and I will continue to be a loud, clear voice on your behalf to make sure that we have a hospital and hub with the very best healthcare, fit for the 21st century.

Protecting our Environment and Rural Areas

The Moorlands is one of the most beautiful places in Britain and I am committed to protecting its natural beauty. I voted for a carbon neutral UK and support our plans to protect the environment. For our most rural areas, I have been lobbying for better broadband, more buses and protecting school transport.

Proper Funding for Schools

As your MP, I am involved with many issues concerning Education and schools in the Moorlands and, as well as having meetings with parents, headteachers, staff and local Councils, am able to raise your concerns directly with the Education Secretary and other Ministers.

More Police on the Streets

I am in regular contact with the Chief Constable and our Area Commander and receive updates from the Police force in the Moorlands who work hard to protect our communities.

Brexit

I am determined that we honour the result of the Referendum and get on with delivering Brexit. I have supported the Prime Minister with his deal and I want to make sure that we get Brexit done.
