Following the historic result this morning of the UK’s referendum on membership of the European Union, Karen Bradley MP and Cllr Sybil Ralphs made the following joint statement.
“We are disappointed with the overall result of the referendum but the view of the British people and the people of Staffordshire Moorlands is very clear. We respect those views and will work to implement their decision in Parliament along with all the manifesto commitments the Conservative Government was elected on only a year ago. As we have said throughout this campaign Britain is a great country and will continue to be great.
“We also pay tribute to the Prime Minister and are sad that he has decided to resign, but we are not surprised because doing so is entirely in keeping with his honourable behaviour since he came to office in 2010. His leadership has directly benefited Staffordshire Moorlands and put our country well on the way to greater prosperity.”
