Moorlands MP, Karen Bradley was pleased to visit the Werrington Library and Wellbeing Centre again to talk to some of the volunteers and Library staff.
Karen commented,
“The Werrington Community Volunteers Group do so much for the local community and I was really proud to hear that they have recently been given the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service which is such a fantastic recognition for their dedication and hard work.”
“Combining the Wellbeing Centre with the Library has been such a positive move and the increase in Library membership highlights just how successful their work has been. All of the individual volunteers involved who have donated their time and expertise have made this project such a success and it is great to see the outcome of such strong teamwork and motivation.”
The Werrington Community Volunteers Group and groups under their umbrella have managed to raise over £350,000 making the Library sustainable for the next 10 years.
