The Royal Mail has painted the post box in Derby St in Leek gold to celebrate local girl Anna Watkins' triumph in the double sculls at the Olympic Games. Karen was asked to help celebrate - and paint! - with Stephen Ellis, Chairman of Staffordshire Moorlands District Council. Karen said:"It was a great honour to represent the people of Staffordshire Moorlands and help the Royal Mail celebrate Anna's amazing achievement. I was glued to the TV when she and Kath Grainger won their gold medal. I can't imagine there is a single child in the UK who doesn't want to be an Olympian and Anna's a real inspiration to the Moorlands. The Royal Mail have had a great idea and this will be a long-standing reminder of this fantastic achievement." Karen was asked by the Royal Mail to join the celebrations as they are painting gold a post box in each of the home towns of the Team GB gold medalists.
