I am very proud that we have so many fantastic small shops here in the Moorlands.  The last few months have been very difficult for so many of them and it is so pleasing to see that many have reopened and are making the best of this difficult time.

Karen welcomes additional funding for UHNM NHS Trust

Moorlands MP, Karen Bradley has welcomed news that University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is set to receive an additional £4,300,000 in order to support A&E capacity ahead of the winter months.

Earlier in the summer, I joined representatives from Staffordshire County Council, Visit England and a number of Staffordshire hospitality businesses in a virtual meeting to discuss plans and ideas on how to reopen our really valuable hospitality and tourism businesses in a COVID-19 secure way.

This week sees the beginning of the Government’s “Eat Out to Help Out” scheme to try and help our cafes, pubs and restaurants.
Diners who eat-in will benefit from a 50% discount, up to a maximum of £10 per person, on food and non-alcoholic drinks, any Monday to Wednesday in August.

I am so proud of all that the Moorlands has to offer to those of us who live here and to the visitors who support the local economy.  Our amazing scenery, welcoming restaurants, pubs and cafes and our fantastic High Streets and markets.  One of the worst things for me during the Covid-19 crisis has been seeing our previously thriving town centres deserted.  So it is great to see people out and about again.
