Staffordshire Moorlands is one of the most beautiful constituencies in the country. It includes a significant proportion of the Peak National Park - an important part of our natural heritage with fantastic scenery.
Unfortunately, our towns and villages have suffered at the hands of Labour. Rural poverty, high levels of anti-social behaviour, poor transport links are not priorities for a Labour government that does not understand this part of the country. Karen is working for the people of Staffordshire Moorlands to be a clear voice in their support and to ensure that the issues affecting us all in this unique place are properly addressed.

Regular readers of this column will know that I have written several times about the removal of the 10p tax rate and how it hit the lowest paid hardest. Along with so many people, I was shocked to see the effect on people’s pay packets, particularly at a time of rising prices...

EU Referendum
When I meet people around the Moorlands, I like to find out what it is that local people are concerned about. Invariably, crime and the fear of going out after dark is raised. The state of the NHS and other public services are also important topics. But I also find widespread uneasiness about losing our identity – both the identity of Staffordshire Moorlands and our British identity...
