Karen Bradley Unveils Jubilee Tribute At Rudyard Lake

Karen unveiled a tribute for the Jubilee at the Rudyard Lake Visitor Centre this weekend. Ray Perry, Chairman of theRudyard Lake Trust had organised a plaque - a mosaic of the Queen's head in a coin surrounded by the emblems of the four home nations ,designed by local artist Claire Heath - to commemorate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

The Business of Politics for Apprentice Jonathan

Karen's 100 in 100 Apprenticeship campaign took an important step towards its target as Jonathan Charles joined Karen's own team in her constituency office as an apprentice in Business Administration.

Promotion To The Government Whips Office

As part of the first reshuffle of the Coalition Government the Prime Minister has appointed Karen as a Minister in the Government Whips' Office. 

Victory for Fairness In Farming

Karen welcomed the new Voluntary Code of Practice agreed by farmers and milk processors this week. The historic agreement will offer farmers flexible contracts, and they will be told why prices change and be given a chance to find better deals elsewhere. 

Aiming For 100 Apprenticeships in 100 Days

Karen is launching her 100 in 100 campaign this week to help find 100 apprenticeships in 100 days for Staffordshire Moorlands.  Things kick off on Friday 31 August and Karen is working with the Leek Post and Times and the National Apprenticeship Service to organise the campaign. 

A Taste Of The Retail Trade

Karen joined local retailer Leonie Wood at the Wine Shop in Leek as part of a national campaign to support local businesses and charities to continue marking the Diamond Jubilee year. 

Painting Leek Gold To Celebrate Anna Watkins' Medal

The Royal Mail has painted the post box in Derby St in Leek gold to celebrate local girl Anna Watkins' triumph in the double sculls at the Olympic Games. Karen was asked to help celebrate - and paint! - with Stephen Ellis, Chairman of Staffordshire Moorlands District Council.

Reviving Wells Dressing in Biddulph Moor

Karen joined the Mayor of Biddulph Jeanette Whalley and the Rev'd John Fisher, at the revival of the Biddulph Moor Well Dressing on Saturday 23 June. Organised by the Biddulph Moor Community Association with the support of local business Moorlands Composites, Mr Fisher blessed the well to add the village to a famous list of places following this long standing regional tradition.

Vote For Your Favourite Moorlands Curry

Karen Bradley MP is urging her constituents to contact her with their nominations for Staffordshire Moorlands restaurants to compete in this year's Tiffin Cup, the prestigious national award for the best South Asian restaurant. In 2010 Qarma of Leek were finalists in the competition, finishing in the top five in the UK.
