I featured the award-winning Proctors Nursery in Brown Edge as one of my 'Reasons' to Visit the Moorlands.

The Proctor family have been farming in Brown Edge since the 1870s and, started a nursery in 1999.  Today, with over 18 acres of production at Endon and Brown Edge and the heavy North Staffordshire soil, their motto is ‘if it will grow here, it will grow anywhere!’

It is truly an amazing place, with different things to see and buy all year round. In October, you can see the Pumpkin Patch which houses thousands of pumpkins of over 30 varieties and also the Maize Maze. During the Christmas period, over 15,000 Christmas trees are available.

Late Spring is a wonderful time to visit, when the flowers and plants are in bloom and there is such a wonderful array of vibrant colours and greenery to see.

Huge congratulations to everyone at Proctors Nursery for winning Platinum, the highest award you can win at Gardeners world live.

I have seen the development of the Werrington Community Library over the years with great new projects such as the community shop and have always enjoyed popping into some of the many fundraisers they have held there.
