On 23 March 2020, the Prime Minister addressed the nation and instructed the British people to stay at home.
I know that this is difficult and worrying but it is right that the Government has taken these unprecedented decisions and these extraordinary measures. Unless we get Coronavirus under control then the danger is that it will overwhelm all of our vital services and cause much greater loss of life.
So my message this week to the people of Staffordshire Moorlands at this time of national emergency is to please follow the Government’s instructions.
You must stay at home, only leaving for the following very limited purposes:
• Shopping for basic necessities, as infrequently as possible.
• One form of exercise a day – for example, a run, walk or cycle – alone or with members of your immediate household.
• Any medical need, to provide care or to help a vulnerable person.
• Travelling to and from work, but only where this absolutely cannot be done from home.
These four reasons are exceptions - you should be minimising time spent outside of the home and ensuring you are 2 metres apart from anyone outside of your household.
Both my Westminster and my Leek office are currently closed but my team and I are continuing to do our best to help, working from our homes. As you may suspect, we are receiving an extremely high volume of correspondence so in light of this, we may not be able to respond as quickly to emails as we would normally like to and we are prioritising those emails that require URGENT attention from constituents needing our help and advice in the current situation.
Please do see my website, www.karenbradley.co.uk, for all the latest advice and please remember - stay home, stay safe and save lives.
