Karen was delighted to help celebrate the launch of the new Westwood Post Office in Leek by cuttting the ribbon at the opening ceremony on Saturday 20 April 2013.
Karen said: “I was really pleased to open the new Westwood Post Office. Chris and Mike have worked so hard and done a fantastic job to develop the branch which will make a real difference for local residents and small business customers. I wish them continued success with their business”.
The Westwood Post Office is part of Post Office plans to modernise the network and extend the opening hours for customers. The opening ceremony was a real community event with scores of visitors and a great performance by the Staffordshire Moorlands Marching Band
Karen added: “I’ve been campaiging for years to save our Post Offices and to promote the services they can offer so this event is a real pleasure. Not only can you get the full range of Post Office services from Chris and Mike, but you can buy a jigsaw, develop your photos and get your dry cleaning done too!”
Post Office customers will benefit from opening hours being extended by 5 hours a week with the branch now open until 17.30 on Saturday. Opening hours are now Monday & Tuesday 08.45 – 17.30 and Wednesday to Saturday 09.00 – 17.30.
