Following a meeting with The Big Lottery Fund, Staffordshire Moorlands MP Karen Bradley is encouraging local groups and community projects to apply for grant funding.
The Big Lottery Fund allocates money raised by National Lottery players to support local communities and help them achieve their ambitions.
Examples of local projects which have received grants include:
• Werrington Community Volunteers Group
• Biddulph Youth and Community Zone Limited
• Borderland Voices - Writing for Health and Mental Wellbeing
• Home Start Staffordshire Moorlands
• Green Tree House
There are two grant programmes - the National Lottery Awards for All, which offers funding of up to £10,000, and the Reaching Communities fund, which provides funding between £10,000 and £500,000 for voluntary or community groups.
Karen said:
"The Big Lottery Fund is a great way of receiving funding for community projects, and I was delighted to hear about the various different groups in the Moorlands which have benefitted from grants.
"If any local community group or organisation in the Moorlands thinks that they may be eligible for a grant from The Big Lottery Fund, I would encourage them to look into the options and apply."
