Moorlands MP, Karen Bradley was delighted to hear that Staffordshire County Council intend to continue to fund the residential education provision at special schools such as Horton Lodge, while they develop a Special School Strategy for the county.
Karen spoke in Parliament recently explaining how a number of children with higher needs attend Horton Lodge Community Special School in her constituency, where there is great concern about the provision of funds for residential care and the possibility that the school will become unviable.
She asked the Education Minister to meet her to discuss the issue and to consider visiting Horton Lodge.
Karen said,
“I was delighted to hear the news that SCC have decided to continue to fund the residential education provision at each of the five residential special schools while they develop a Special School Strategy for the county. This is very good news indeed. I will continue to discuss this issue with the Minister and look forward to seeing this new strategy.”
