Local MP, Karen Bradley was pleased to join in the annual Club Day celebrations in Leek, an event that has been going strong for over 200 years.
This year it was the turn of Trinity Church to lead the worship in the Market Place and the procession around the town. After a colourful and vibrant service on the theme of “Walking the Way” by Trinity’s minister, Richard Pope, Karen walked in the procession with the lead church, as well as with the Mayor Cllr Sue Coleman, Town Crier Bill Lomas and Chairman of the District Council Cllr Keith Flunder.
Karen was also delighted to meet one lady from Trinity who came to her first Club Day 84 years ago!
Karen said,
“I am always pleased to take part in the Club Day celebrations.
Thank you to everyone who took part – the organisers, churches and marching bands and to the people of Leek and surrounding areas for supporting the event – it was a great day and was enjoyed by all.
