Moorlands MP, Karen Bradley, joined Deputy Lieutenant of Staffordshire, Judy Scott-Moncrieff recently for a return visit to Leek Moorlands Hospital.

Karen and Judy were given a tour by Jennie Collier, Managing Director for Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Care Group; John Smith, the Service Lead for Urgent Care; Jason, Operations Lead and Lynsey, a District Nurse Sister to see the services available within the hospital and the developing models of care.

More services are being moved to the hospital, the most recent are the Staffordshire Treatment and Recovery Services for Drug and Alcohol, the Community Nursing team and Adult Social Care. The Home First services are due to move in shortly.

These additions are part of the ongoing efforts to enhance the quality and accessibility of health and social care services to the residents of Leek Moorlands.

Karen said,

“It was lovely to visit Leek Moorlands Hospital again. I have visited many times over the years and have invited Ministers to see our local hospital. I was pleased to join Deputy Lieutenant of Staffordshire, Judy Scott-Moncrieff to see the new services that have moved in recently.”

During the visit, Karen and Judy visited Triage, Talking Therapy and the Community Nurses. Karen and Judy met some of the Community Nurses at her Pensioners Information & Advice Fair in Cheadle and was pleased to see that they have also now moved in with a total of 18 staff.

Jennie Collier stated how it is very important to keep services together. She also confirmed that the services of the Minor Injuries Unit will stay at Leek Moorlands Hospital as this is such a valued service in the Moorlands.
