I hope you have all enjoyed a happy, peaceful and restful Easter weekend. It’s always great to be back at home in Leek for Easter recess and spend time with my family and friends at this special time of the year.
The days have flown by since the beginning of the year and as well as attending many events and meetings about the Moorlands both in the constituency and in Westminster, I have dealt with hundreds of pieces of correspondence and have personally written to over 500 local people. I am sadly not able to solve every single problem but I am always really pleased when we succeed.
I continue to hear amazing stories about the talent we have here in the Moorlands and was delighted to learn that The Lazy Trout in Meerbrook has recently been commended in the Pub category in the Countryside Alliance Awards. Congratulations to all concerned.
Many of you have asked me about future Tea Dances following the very successful one I organised in Leek. I am pleased to announce that I will be hosting another in the Summer, this time in Biddulph. I am especially looking forward to the cakes, as I gave up eating them up for Lent.
