Karen welcomes Autumn Budget 2018

Last week the Chancellor set out a Budget that showed that the hard work of the British people is paying off with record levels of employment, strengthening public finances and real wages rising.

That hard work has enabled us to invest in supporting our public services- providing the £20.5bn real terms increase to the NHS budget by 23/24, and to cut income tax for 32 million people whilst freezing fuel, beer and spirits duties so people can keep more of what they earn.

Ensuring the future of Leek Moorlands Hospital is one of the most important issues for me as MP. I am a strong supporter of the hospital, my family and I have and would always want to be treated there and as your Member of Parliament, I will continue to do my very best for local residents holding regular meetings and raising their concerns with local health and care leaders and local authorities as well as with the Department of Health and Social Care in Westminster.
