Basford Bridge No. 44 is a stone canal bridge located at Cheddleton, carrying Basford Bridge Lane over the Caldon Canal. Like many bridges on the canal, Basford Bridge’s purpose was to provide access between farms and properties on either side of the canal while allowing horse-drawn narrowboats to pass beneath.
