Tomorrow, Wednesday 22nd October, sees the launch of a scheme to set up the Royal Oak pub in Rushton Spencer as a community pub. Everyone is welcome to come along to a meeting at at 8pm and will have a chance to own a share in the pub. Karen said:
"I wish everyone involved with the scheme to reopen the Royal Oak the very best. Pubs are an important part of village life and it will be great if enough people can get together to get it up and running again. I have met some of the organisers and I know how committed they are - their efforts deserve success.
"I have been in touch with the Save the Pub Group and the Parliamentary Beer Group seeking their support and I hope that the Royal Oak team can learn from other successful community pub projects."
