MP Congratulates PM
Originally established in Stafford as Indigo Training in 2007, the Leek Centre on Queen Street was acquired by the Aspire Group in April 2011 and is now being rebranded as PM Training.
Fifty young people train in construction and business skills two days a week at the Centre, spending the other three days on work placement with employers gaining an insight into the world of work. The centre itself employs four tutors, an administrator and a Foundation Learning coordinator, all overseen by Dean Collier, the Centre Manager.
Karen said "I'm really impressed with PM Training. It's a great social enterprise that is helping to broaden young people's horizons. Those who are training here are getting the opportunity to learn new practical skills that will help them find work and employers are benefitting from motivated and well-trained staff.
"Vocational training is a really valuable thing - it is worth employers making the investment in their time so they get people with the right skills.
"PM Training is exactly the sort of enterprise that we need more of, I'll be letting Ministers know the good things they are doing."
Dean said "PM Training have an excellent reputation of getting their learners into apprenticeships leading on to full time employment, and this is what the acquisition will bring to our learners in the Moorlands".
