On Bank Holiday Monday Waterfall residents opened their village to all-comers to enjoy the festivities at their annual fete. Karen Bradley visited with her family to join in the celebrations.

On Saturday night, Karen Bradley joined the celebrations at the formal opening of the Newpool Meadows village green in Knypersley. After much campaigning and agreement to protect the area, local residents enjoyed a get together on the green,

Karen Bradley visited Ipstones Agricultural Show on Saturday to join hundreds of visitors enjoying themselves in the rain. Karen said:

"Ipstones is always a great event. We enjoyed the gymkhana before the rain came and at least when we took refuge in the main tent there were some amazing prize winners. The flowers were beautiful. It was especially pleasing to see the Marie Curie cancer stall had sold all their tombola tickets so I hope they raised a lot of money!"

Karen Bradley donned her baker's outfit for a visit to the Taste of the Moorlands bakery in Warslow this week. She was supporting owner Sarah Gayton's campaign to get the 2012 London Olympics to benefit rural businesses in Staffordshire.

Karen Bradley joined supporters of the Caudwell's Children's charity on Saturday at Tittesworth reservoir for their family fun day. Hundreds of people braved the rain to enjoy the stalls and attractions at the lake to raise money for sick and disabled children in the Moorlands.

Karen Bradley visited the League of Friends of Leek Moorlands Hospital on Saturday for their summer fayre. Many hardy visitors braved the rain to support the fundraising event. Karen said:

"The League of Friends do a great job in supporting friends and staff of the Moorlands hospital and I know this is an important event for them. The organisers have done a great job in the face of unseasonal weather - but there were lots of bargains for the dedicated supporter!"

The Qarma Tandoori restaurant in Leek is celebrating winning a place in the regional final of the Newby Teas Tiffin Cup 2010. The national competition is held each year to find the best South Asian restaurant in the country and Karen Bradley MP chose Qarma this year to represent Staffordshire Moorlands.

Karen Bradley MP showed her support for efforts to beat cancer at a major Cancer Research UK event on cancer treatment in Parliament.  During the briefing, Karen heard about the different approaches used to treat cancer patients in the UK and was taken through a range of treatment pathways that a patient may follow after being diagnosed

Mother of two and Staffordshire Moorlands MP, Karen Bradley, has been elected as a vice Chair of the influential All Parliamentary Party Group for Maternity.  The Group, now in its tenth year, brings together leading MPs, Peers and professionals in Maternity Services. It has a remit to improve the quality of maternity services and to raise awareness of the contribution maternity care can make to public health, in particular the importance of maternity provision in improving women and babies' health.

Karen Bradley joined the Inland Waterways Association at its reception for MPs elected to the new Parliament on 15 June. It gave Karen a chance to discuss the network with the IWA. They explained to MPs about the importance of the inland waterways to Britain and highlighted some of the problems which must be overcome if they are to continue to flourish. Soon after the reception on 5th July, the Caldon Canal in Leek was reopened after repairing the breach in its wall from November 2009.
