Leek Conservative Action Team to Extend Ladydale Footpath
Volunteers Wanted to Help Improve School’s Footpath
Karen Bradley, Conservative Parliamentary Spokesman for Staffordshire Moorlands, is this week asking for volunteers to help with further work to upgrade the Ladydale footpath in Leek.
Karen said:
“Late last year, Leek Conservative Action Team spent two weekends upgrading the Ladydale footpath in Leek that runs between the All Saints First School and All Saints Church, meaning that the children were able to walk between the school and the church without having to use the busy main road.
Although we were very pleased with the results, we knew that with more effort we could clear and extend the footpath directly behind the school allowing the children, once a new gate has been installed, to access the school grounds without going on the busy Cheddleton Road. But trying to do this kind of work over the winter is pointless as any good work carried out is almost immediately destroyed by bad weather.
Now that the weather is better, and any improvements we make can have time to bed in, we are going to carry out the remaining work. We will be working on the weekend of Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th July and would really appreciate more volunteers so that we can achieve as much as is possible in the time available. If you can give your time, please contact Paul Chauveau on 07973 200200 and he will be able to give you details on when and where to meet.”
