Manifold Show and Cheddleton Carnival

Conservative Candidate Enjoys the Moorlands at its Best

Karen Bradley, Conservative Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Staffordshire Moorlands, had a busy on Saturday, meeting farmers and local business people at the Manifold Valley Agricultural Show at Ilam.

Karen judged the Slowest Tractor Races at Manifold Show.

She said:

“The slow tractor races were not too difficult to judge as the last tractor to cross the line is the winner.  The only problem is making sure that the tractors are moving at all.

The Manifold Show was a great success, with the most glorious weather making up for the lack of livestock exhibitors.  All credit to the organisers for going ahead with the show, despite the recent outbreak of foot and mouth in Surrey.  It’s good to see such a strong agricultural show at this time of adversity.”

Later in the day, Karen spent time at the Cheddleton Carnival, watching the crowning of the Queen and enjoying the many stalls on offer.

Karen said:

“The Cheddleton Carnival was a great event – the best ever according to everyone I spoke to. Having lived in Cheddleton as a child, I really enjoy seeing it at its best, and there is no doubt that today it was.”

Karen met up with recently re-elected councillor Mike Worthington at the carnival (pictured).

Mike added:

“Cheddleton turned true blue at the last District Council elections in May, returning three Conservative Councillors. We are all looking forward to making sure that the trend continues for the General Election, when I’m sure the people of Cheddleton will vote for Karen.”
